Jersey congratulated on successful RBI Conference

Caversham, the Jersey RBI representative, recently hosted the Russell Bedford International Tax and European Conference in Jersey this year.

The event was the best attended of these events with delegates flying in from Brazil, Mauritius, India, Canada, United States and most of the European Union.

The varied programme covered topics such as Protected Cell Companies, Islamic Finance and the new tax regime in Malta.There was also an interesting case study debate on the tax aspects of funding an international charitable entity.Caversham are grateful for the input of the guest speakers, which included Simon Howard (pictured below), an Advocate with the Jersey law firm, Appleby and representatives from Barclays Capital and Barclays Wealth.

The Conference was held at the Hotel de France over the weekend of 12 – 14 May 2007 with a cocktail reception given by Caversham at their offices on the Saturday night followed by dinner at a local restaurant.

The next Russell Bedford International Conference will be held in Madrid in October and Robert Surcouf, together with Caversham’s Managing Director, Stephen Whale will represent Caversham.
